James Bradley was born in 1967. His books include the novels Wrack, The Deep Field, The Resurrectionist and Clade, The Penguin Book of the Ocean, and most recently The Silent Invasion, the first in a trilogy of novels for young adults. He writes and reviews for a wide range of Australian and international publications and in 2012 won the Pascall Prize for Australia's Critic of the Year. He lives in Sydney with his partner, novelist Mardi McConnochie.
