Bookworms & film buffs unite!
2024 is the start of a new year-long partnership between the Canberra Writers Festival and the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA) exploring book-to-film adaptations.
The Book Club at the NFSA series kicks off in February and will feature screenings of culturally significant books each month that have made the leap from page to screen.
Screenings are followed by curated discussions with celebrated authors, filmmakers and media figures including special guests Lech Blaine, Michael Winkler, Mima Kwa and Cadance Bell – with more to be announced soon!
From Jane Austen to Australian grunge lit and everything in between – this series is the perfect monthly fix for bookworms and film buffs alike. Films to be discussed include:
